Petrie Run

G'day All
well we had a fairly good turn out for this run to Old Petrie town, we started the night at Pine Rivers Park which was pitch black when we arrived but we were all having a laugh about standing around in the dark. From the park we then headed to the Emporium at Old petrie Town for a bite to eat. when arriving we did a short curcit around to have a look at some of the other car's that head out for a friday night at petrie. Niel Diamond was playing on a big screen and just going into the emporium is an experiance it has a very rock'n'roll feel with "The King" standing at the door to greet you and the staff dressed in 50's gear, food at the Emporium was great the burgers were HUGE a meal in its self we all had a good chat and laugh while having dinner the some of us headed over to The Ole Lollie Shop. We kept the night fairly short as it was a bit nippy and after a photo shoot with all the cars lined up we wraped up the night and headed home. I would say this has been one of my favorite runs so far a great place to eat and a great venue for all kinds of classic cars with a great atmosphere. Keep on dubbin.... Belinda.

Trip Report Maidenwell

G'day All
The day started with a few small hicup's with the beachbuggy not playing nice however I did make it to the burpegary bp about 15 mins late. After a small carby rebuild in the car park we finally set off around 9am,when I say we I mean Rob and Sandy in their hotrod who were guests coming along for the ride, thats right no other blb members showed up.Granted there was only a few weeks notice but I was dissapointed all the same.
We did eventually arrive very late to Maidenwell there was only one beetle to be found a local, not one of ours. The weather was nice the food was great and the turnout from other car clubs was pretty good.Maybe next time we can make a better run of it.
Regards Tim Wells Club President

The day to the Natural Bridge started very much the same as all other days.  Where is my hat?  Have you packed the plates?  What time do we meet at the servo?  After a few quick talks we were off. Those that could,  met for brekky at the Mackas that club meetings were held.  We set off and met at the servo BP on the freeway and after some more car admiring (as there were some really good looking old Holdens) all drove away.  The pics show the small but tidy convoy up the roads behind the Gold Coast.  Past some interesting and maybe potential spots for a future cruise.  Finally we arrived at the Natural Bridge site.  The walk around the falls are easy and give a picture perfect view of the cave and falls.  Many pics taken of the cobbled stone river the pool above the falls and the cave.  Glow worms don't like to be photographed so they are not seen in the any of my photos.

So after this peaceful walk we were starving.  The next thing the hunt and gather instincts came to call and we were off to look for some form of hot plate to send burnt offerings to the gods.  The selected spot was beside the river and all looked well until the "What will we cook on" was heard.  The plates that the local council supply were off in the distance and at the time were being put to use by some other hunt and gather clan.  The ever inventive challenge was called for and a fire was made.  The only problem was to come up with a hot plate.  So the call was made and Bruce found in the scrub a very bent old road sign.  The sign was then made to custom fit the fire and the trusty picnic pack had the silicone mat made especially for this type of situation.  Food was great and the day was a heap of fun.  A big thank you to all those that turned up and made the day a heap of fun.
The happy campers

Jess the Dog.
